Description

Another little tips, this time a little longer I'M SORRY T//7///T!!
Some argument are very difficult to talking about, Pricing adoptables is one of the hardest part for me, I'm in the adopts community for just two years and I have sill problem with that!
I postponed this tips for so long because I have a little fear people may feel demoralized if someone tells them to lower the price for something they consider VERY GOOD!!
And I'm not the one who tell you are NOT GOOD because YOU ARE AND YOU WORTH the money you ask for!!
But just try to fly down a little especially when you start or when you not focus yourself in adoptables ( for example for people who have a mixed gallery and just occasionally post adoptables ;u; )
For my experience, practice is EVERYTHING ;U; you have to try different things, experiment without expect high amount, but just for the pleasure to make what you love!!
I could full my gallery with the specie I sell for highest price, I did most of them because are my favourites too but I need also to experiment new things often, even if I sell them for lowest price, even if they are free like raffles or showcase things T//u//T
A lot of people think with 1-2 adoblables occasionally they could reach the experience gained by people who are in the community by very long time, I know a lot of people comparing their self with others and I read things like "people just want popular adopts!" but you have to think that people to gain that popularity were not motionless, they work hard day by day and they just
reaping the benefits of what they did ;u;
For example I have in my gallery about 835 single designs, in my "maybe to do" folder on my computer I have other 370+ designs and Marie the same, I drew everyday, when I have free time I focus on my art, adoptables, commissions, personal art, comics, everything!
Don't think about others, about what people want, focus about what you love, what makes you happy when you draw and never give up, I know I'm repetitive but YES NEVER GIVE UP!
Of course you don't need 50 designs month, but 1-2 every month will never let people to know you and understood about your designs style ;u;

Being angry to other people because "they sell more than you and you deserve more than them because you are better" doesn't change the reality, only one can change this thing.
Who?
You
How?
With effort, with patience, with practice.
Being angry could just makes you discouraged, sad, depressed about your art, about your self esteem and this is not good for your creativity, I guarantee.

"Why I sell for less price? why mine are not popular?why? why? why?"

Questions like these KILL your creativity, don't think about the price more than how good is your designs, if you care a lot one of your designs and you don't want underprice that, think that tomorrow YOU COULD DO BETTER THAN THIS!
And the design of yesterday might be less good than design of tomorrow!
So let it go, also with the price lower than what you imagine, and start something new instantly!
Day by day, adopt by adopt, you'll grow up and you will can change your prices, NOW focus on grow up your skill, your experience, not your money ;u;
and I'm not talking about you ART skill but your DESIGN skill, because are two very very different things, that together make the perfectly combination, but to be a good artist is not enough for a good design, I see extraordinary artist have a lot of difficulties with adoptables, you have to study the equilibrium between details+right colors+simplicity+ understandable design and so on, and there is something I have a lot to learning about, but day by day everything is possible ;u;!
I know you can think "but aaah I need money I have not all that time!" but force things to grow up before the right time
It will give the opposite effect, with demotivation I'm talking above ;u;

In the end try with a little starting bid like 5-10 $ for little chibies, maybe more for full bodies with particular design, try in this way for the starting, for the Ab you could try doubled the starting bid might be enough, or you can try with no Ab to see how the auction going, only when you see that your adopts being sold
faster than previous you can try to rise the price ;u;!
You can also rise the price for the adoptable you are very attached, but if it not going how you expected don't be sad and try with an another better design \;u;/! <3

One thing is sure : Nothing is predictable, no one of your decision will be the final and best decision, one design could surprise you and another one it may not be sold!
When you talking about people taste nothing is 100% sure ;u;
The
thought you most frequently think about will be "wow...I didn't expect that..." in any way!
Today after so many designs, I'm still ask Marie "ok...are you thinking about the price right?" and she hides herself without reply...

The only thing that have to be sure is your effort and your
perseverance \;//u//;/!! <3 <3

Forgive me for the long text, I really hope to help you because asking for price help it's the question I got more frequently and I want taking all the time I need to explain my opinion ;u;
My english is bad I know but I did my best to explain \;//u//;/

Very well done.

Unfortunately, lately people tend to overcharge for some adopts. And while some people still buy them, I honestly don't think that it's fair, especially for very simple adopts or for adopts that were clearly made in dollmakers.

My dollmakers adopts are always free. ^^ If you didn't draw it, don't charge for it. At least that's my mindset. ^^
